HCMC – The Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee has proposed that the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee consider disciplinary measures against Pham Dinh Cu, former chairman of Phu Yen Province’s People’s Committee.

During its 37th meeting from March 6 to 8, the Inspection Commission looked into the proposals of the Party Committees of Phu Yen, Gia Lai, and Ha Giang provinces regarding disciplinary actions against several Party members.

Pham Dinh Cu was found to have exhibited ideological and ethical degradation, and have violated the rules on what Party members are banned from doing and on Party members’ responsibility of acting as role models.

Pham Dinh Cu’s actions breached Party regulations and State laws, causing serious consequences and public disgrace, which affected the reputation of the Party.

The Inspection Commission suggested that the Party Central Committee review and take disciplinary measures against him.

In early January, Cu was prosecuted for allegedly violating regulations on the management and use of State assets, resulting in losses and wastefulness. He was accused of wrongdoing in a decision on allocation of 1,183 square meters of land to Pymepharco JSC without going through a mandatory bidding process, causing losses of VND10 billion to the State.

In related news, Nguyen Tu Son, former Party Committee member of Gia Lai Province, and director of the province’s Department of Education and Training; Nguyen The Binh, Party Committee’s former member of Ha Giang Province, and director of the province’s Department of Education and Training, were also found to having shown ideological and ethical degradation.

The Inspection Commission also recommended that the Party Central Committee review and implement disciplinary measures against those individuals.

Previously, Son was prosecuted for alleged serious negligence resulting in serious consequences in the case related to the purchase of digital equipment and software at his department. Binh, likewise, was recently charged and temporarily detained by the police of Ha Giang Province for multiple irregularities in the procurement of equipment for schools in 2019 and 2020.
