HCMC – Domestic gold bar prices climbed by VND300,000 this morning, August 27, reaching nearly VND128 million per tael. One tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 troy ounces.
At 10:30 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company and Doji quoted gold bars at around VND126.1 million for buying and VND128 million for selling, while Phu Quy Jewelry listed prices at VND125.1–127.7 million, all up by VND300,000.
Bao Tin Minh Chau’s prices were VND125.8–128 million, with the buy price down VND300,000 and the sell price up VND300,000.
Gold ring prices also increased. Phu Quy Jewelry posted rates at VND119.5–122.5 million per tael, up by VND300,000.
Globally, gold traded at about US$3,387 per ounce, up US$11 from the previous session.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) this morning set the central exchange rate at VND25,273 per U.S. dollar, unchanged from yesterday. Within the 5% trading band, Vietcombank quoted the dollar at VND26,146 for buying and VND26,536 for selling, up VND6.
BIDV and Vietinbank made the same upward adjustment to VND26,192–26,536 per dollar.
