HCMC – The prices of SJC-brand gold bars and gold rings have increased by VND150,000 to VND400,000 per tael, while the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar against the Vietnamese dong has also rebounded today, December 12.
As of 9 a.m., major jewelry companies such as Saigon Jewelry Company, Phu Quy Company, and DOJI listed SJC gold bars at VND84.8 million per tael for buying and VND87.3 million per tael for selling, marking a rise of VND400,000 per tael from the previous day.
SJC gold rings also saw an increase of VND200,000 per tael, with businesses trading them in the range of VND84.5 million to VND85.9 million per tael.
At Phu Quy Company, gold ring prices rose to VND84.7 million per tael for buying and VND86.1 million per tael for selling, while Bao Tin Minh Chau listed prices at VND84.38 million for buying and VND85.98 million per tael for selling, up by VND150,000 per tael.
In the forex market, the State Bank of Vietnam set the central reference rate at VND24,259 per U.S. dollar, up by VND6 from December 11.
VietinBank and BIDV quoted the U.S. dollar exchange rate between VND25,171 and VND25,471 per dollar, also up by VND6 compared to yesterday’s closing rate.
