Dong Nai proposes building one more bridge with HCMC

The Saigon Times

Must read

HCMC – Dong Nai Province has proposed HCMC consider building one more bridge linking the two sides to boost traffic and economic connectivity.

The provincial government proposed HCMC select a location to build the bridge connecting to Provincial Road 777B in the province’s Long Thanh District over the Dong Nai River, the local media reported.

It is necessary to build the new bridge to facilitate traffic, especially after the Long Thanh International Airport is put into service in 2025, and make the beltways No. 3, 4 and Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway projects work effectively, according to Dong Nai.

Road users can now travel from Dong Nai Province to HCMC through three main routes, including National Highway 1 across Dong Nai Bridge, National Highway 1K across Binh Duong Province and Hoa An Bridge, and the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway across Long Thanh Bridge. However, the three roadways are now overloaded.

Apart from the proposed bridge, three other bridges had been earlier approved and will be developed to connect Dong Nai Province and HCMC. Among them, the Phuoc Khanh Bridge project is underway, while the Nhon Trach and Cat Lai bridges are awaiting site clearance and location research.
