HCMC – Dong Nai Province plans to reclaim nearly 4,600 hectares of rubber plantations for industrial zone and infrastructure projects, and land auctions, as discussed at a conference on finalizing the compensation plan on February 25.
According to the Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment, thousands of hectares of rubber land currently managed by Dong Nai Rubber Corporation will be repurposed for various projects.
In 2025 alone, the province plans to auction 19 land plots, requiring the reclamation of nearly 900 hectares. Compensation and support payments have already been completed for five plots covering nearly 400 hectares.
For seven additional plots spanning over 200 hectares, land reclamation decisions have been issued, and compensation plans have been approved.
Vo Tan Duc, chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee, emphasized the need to reclaim land this year to support industrial and infrastructure development. The province will reclaim nine land plots from Dong Nai Rubber Corporation for projects adjacent to major transportation developments.
Additionally, nearly 240 hectares of rubber land will be cleared for five key road projects, including Provincial Roads 770B, 773, 769, 769E, and the Xuan Que – Long Khanh road.
Dong Nai is also working on land reclamation and site clearance for industrial zones approved by the Prime Minister, including Long Duc 3, Bau Can-Tan Hiep (Phase 1), Xuan Que-Song Nhan (Phase 1), and Long Duc (Phase 2).
Le Thanh Hung, general director of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG), expressed support for the province’s land reclamation plans.
He said that VRG will closely coordinate with authorities throughout the process and proposed that the province allow the group to participate in projects related to resource regeneration, business development, and job creation for workers.
