HCMC – River vessel Indochine 2 has transported 30 Australian tourists to HCMC, making it the first international river cruise ship back to Vietnam after a two-year suspension induced by the Covid pandemic.

Travelers onboard Indochine 2 will experience a nine-day tour from HCMC to some Mekong Delta provinces, such as Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Dong Thap and An Giang, according to Saigontourist Travel.

These international visitors will cruise along the Mekong River, and visit the Floating Market and other tourist sites in the southwestern region today, July 19. They will be heading for Cambodia through Vinh Xuong border gate on July 22.

Nguyen Huu Y Yen, general director of Saigontourist Travel, told The Saigon Times that the firm was enhancing its efforts to attract international visitors, including those traveling on waterway routes, back to Vietnam.

After passengers onboard river vessels arrive in the city, the tour operator will offer them boat tours. The firm is expected to receive 20 international river vessels from now until the end of the year.
