HCMC – A severe flash flood has destroyed Lang Nu Village in the northern province of Lao Cai, leaving at least 15 out of 128 residents dead.

By 6 p.m. today, September 10, authorities have confirmed that 15 bodies had been recovered, and the search for additional victims is underway. Over 30 people of the village were confirmed to have survived the disaster but are injured, with dozens still missing.

The flood-hit area is remote, with cut-off transportation and communication, making rescue operations difficult.

Local leaders are working hard to gather all available resources for the search and rescue effort.
