HCMC – Five interdisciplinary inspection teams will be established to conduct nationwide food safety checks from April 15 to May 15, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
Led by the ministries of Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Industry and Trade, these teams will focus on ensuring food safety in 10 key provinces and cities across Vietnam as part of the “Food Safety Action Month” program.
The first team, spearheaded by the Food Safety Department under the Ministry of Health, will collaborate with relevant agencies to inspect food safety standards in Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces.
Similarly, the second team, led by the Department of Quality, Processing, and Market Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, will conduct inspections in Quang Ninh and Thanh Hoa provinces.
Heading to Haiphong and Hung Yen, the third team, led by the Department of Animal Health under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, will focus on ensuring food safety standards in these areas.
The remaining provinces and cities, including Cao Bang, Lang Son, Hoa Binh, and Son La, will be covered by the last two teams led by the Science and Technology Department and the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The ministries of Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Industry and Trade have also assigned several units to conduct surprise inspections in provinces and cities as an effort to uphold food safety standards nationwide.
