HCMC – Ngo Ngoc Duc, formerly a Party secretary of Hoa Binh City in the northern province of Hoa Binh, has been detained for alleged involvement in illegal gambling, according to local media reports.
On August 7, the investigative agency of the Ministry of Public Security detained Duc.
In April 2024, Duc was relieved of his positions as a member of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee, as well as the secretary of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, at his personal request.
Duc, 50, hails from My Duc District, Hanoi City. He previously served as director of the Hoa Binh Provincial Department of Construction before becoming the secretary of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee.
