HCMC – Hanoi City plans to complete over 5,900 affordable homes in 11 projects by 2025, according to the city’s Department of Construction.
Since 2021, Hanoi has developed around 640,000 square meters of social housing, equivalent to more than 10,270 units. The upcoming additions will raise the total to 15,440 units for the 2021-2025 period, achieving 78.3% of the city’s target.
The Ha Dinh social housing project in Thanh Xuân District is set to begin construction on December 5, with all legal and procedural requirements finalized.
Looking beyond 2025, Hanoi has ambitious plans to develop 50 more social housing projects between 2026 and 2030, providing around 57,170 units.
The city is also reviewing investment policies for four independent social housing zones in Dong Anh, Gia Lam, and Me Linh districts. These zones, spanning over 200 hectares, are expected to include more than 12,000 homes.
Additionally, Hanoi plans to convert the Phap Van-Tu Hiep student housing area into rental social housing, further increasing the availability of affordable housing options.
