HCMC – Hanoi City welcomed some 15.38 million tourists between January and October, a fivefold year-on-year increase, according to the Hanoi Tourism Department.
Among them, the number of international travelers was 983,000, nearly reaching the full-year target of welcoming 1-1.2 million inbound tourists.
Over 14.4 million domestic tourists visited Hanoi, five times higher than that of the same period last year.
The revenue from tourism amounted to VND43.69 trillion, also a fivefold year-on-year increase.
During the January-October period, the average occupancy rate in hotels was estimated at 35%, up 14.1 percentage points over the same period last year.
According to statistics from the Hanoi Tourism Department, Hanoi welcomed a total of 1.51 million visitors in October, including 1.3 domestic and 212.76 million international travelers.
The average occupancy rate in hotels reached 43.7%, up one point month-on-month and 26.7 points year-on-year.
The surge in tourist arrivals was attributed to the strong recovery of services and lodging facilities.
One of the key priorities of Hanoi tourism until the end of the year is to develop new tourism products and programs such as the Ao Dai Festival and the Hanoi Tourism Ambassador Contest.
The Hanoi Tourism Department will continue developing critical tourism services such as cultural tourism, experiential tourism, sports tourism and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions tourism.
