HCMC – Hanoi will introduce a public bicycle service in six inner-city districts starting in September, with the rental fees ranging from VND5,000 to VND10,000 per half an hour.
Tri Nam Group JSC, the project’s investor, has imported a total of 1,000 bicycles for the project, including 500 electric bicycles and 100 of these electric bikes are currently en route to Vietnam and are expected to arrive in Hanoi on July 20.
Work on 79 bicycle stations is nearing completion, according to Do Ba Dan, chairman of Tri Nam Group JSC.
These stations are located near transportation hubs, schools, tourist attractions, and other public areas, providing convenient access for residents and tourists to use this new service.
By the end of August 2023, the company plans to deploy over 600 bicycles in Hanoi’s six inner-city districts, before the official launch of the public bicycle service in September.
The rental fee for a regular public bicycle will be VND5,000 per 30 minutes, while an electric bicycle will cost VND10,000 for the same duration.
The bicycle rental project was approved by the Hanoi People’s Committee in June 2022.
