With the “Go together to go farther” motto by Hanwha Group, Hanwha Life Vietnam Insurance Co., Ltd has conducted multiple social activities, pursuing the goal of sustainable development in Vietnam, where the company has been operating for over 12 years. In 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic has heavily hit the livelihood of local residents and the country’s economy, so Hanwha Life Vietnam has further enhanced its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.

Joining hands with the community to curb pandemic

Since the first Covid-19 cases were detected in Vietnam early last year, the Government has come up with drastic measures to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus and treat patients. However, due to different variants, the pandemic has later become a crisis directly affecting the various aspects of the society.

Therefore, Hanwha Life Vietnam has joined forces with the Government and the people with an aim to bring the pandemic under control. Specifically, on October 28, 2021, the firm accompanied the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Binh Thanh and Binh Chanh districts in HCMC and Childfund Vietnam to present more than 2,200 gift sets and 1,000 protective suits worth a total of VND724 million to pandemic-hit residents and frontline workers in the fight against the pandemic in the two districts.

Earlier, accompanying the Government in the anti-Covid fight, Hanwha Life Vietnam contributed VND1 billion to the national Covid-19 vaccine fund in June, contributing to the country’s efforts to tackle the pandemic and bring life back to normal. In addition, the company has established the “Hanwha Life – Companion to protect” fund with VND2 billion to protect the core salesforce from Covid-19.

Im Dong Jun, CEO of Hanwha Life Vietnam, said the company wanted to join hands with the country to fight the pandemic. Hanwha Life Vietnam understood the difficulties and losses incurred by the families of Covid-19 cases, so the company expected its support would encourage local residents and let them know that they are not alone in this fight.

The insurer has been active in reducing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. In July last year, it presented 1,000 gift sets, including learning tools, clothes and necessities, worth VND1.2 billion to 1,000 children in HCMC’s Nha Be District, Hanoi’s Ba Vi District, Nghe An Province’s Quynh Luu and Dien Chau districts, and Hoa Binh Province’s Tan Lac District.

The company also donated nearly 9,000 protective suits to frontline medical workers across the country. Hanwha Life Vietnam’s contributions have showed its social responsibility and commitment to promote humane values.

Other meaningful programs

Hanwha Life Vietnam’s contributions have been seen not only in the fight against Covid-19 but also throughout its presence in Vietnam. In over 12 years of operation in the country, the company has spent VND30 billion on many practical community projects, contributing to Vietnam’s sustainable development.

Specifically, it has coordinated with the HCMC Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients to donate 53,570 free health insurance cards to the poor in 20 provinces from 2014 to 2020, providing the poor with opportunities to access better healthcare services.

In addition, the firm has built more than 160 houses of gratitude, five health care centers and two schools. It has also awarded many scholarships and bicycles to disadvantaged children in many localities.

Through these activities, Hanwha Life Vietnam has demonstrated its long-term investment commitment in the country and contributions to improve locals’ life quality.
