HCMC – HCMC reopened Lam Son Park in District 1, which was previously cleared for the construction of an underground terminal of the city’s first metro line, on August 26, Tuoi Tre newspaper reported.
The HCMC authorities began to rebuild the park, which is located in front of the Saigon Opera House, one of the most well-known tourist attractions in the city, in June.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the new park, Huynh Thanh Nhan, director of the HCMC Department of Culture and Sports, said the park has been restored to its original size of 2,200 square meters.
The city is holding a photo exhibition at the park in celebration of the 75th National Day (September 2), featuring 100 photos introducing the city’s history, development and outstanding achievements.
At the same time, another photo exhibition is also taking place on Dong Khoi Street in District 1, featuring 50 photos highlighting Vietnam’s prosperity and 70 photos focusing on HCMC’s contribution to the country’s development.
