HCMC – The authority of HCMC is determined to rev up the patriotic emulation movement in an attempt to awaken its economy, the municipal chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong said at an emulation congress on June 26.
The city’s seventh patriotic emulation congress for the 2020-2025 period was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, HCMC top officials and over 600 delegates.
Addressing the opening of the event, chairman Phong said that the city’s solidarity and creativity being maintained over the past five years have contributed to its growth with improved living quality, civility, modernity and humanity.
That strong wave of patriotism has encouraged all of the city dwellers to jointly build and develop the southern hub.
The city will continue to create more favorable conditions to turn the patriotic emulation movement into a mainstream of the society to help build a better society, the chairman added.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, HCMC has taken a lead in many patriotic emulation movements in association with the country’s revolutions for national liberation and reform. The city’s patriotic emulation movements have gathered strength and increasingly attracted the participation of many groups of people and individuals.
