HCMC – HCMC will center on promoting trade in green products this year as part of the city’s transition toward sustainable development.

“ITPC has devised a plan for trade and investment promotion in 2024 with the goal of effectively contributing to the implementation of digital transformation and Resolution 98 in the city,” said Phu Lu, director of the Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), at a recent conference.

To achieve this goal, ITPC will diversify the forms of organizing trade and investment promotion activities, expand and diversify export markets, and intensify trade promotion activities.

The focus will be on making breakthroughs in entering new markets such as Australia, Canada, India, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa. ITPC will also promote the export of Halal products to Muslim markets.

The center will place a particular emphasis on organizing trade promotions for the city’s main industrial products with high potential for development, especially green and eco-friendly products.

During the conference, Nguyen Van Dung, vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, urged ITPC to prioritize digital transformation, enhance the efficacy of trade and investment promotion activities, and focus on human resource development.

ITPC also signed cooperation agreements with industry associations and media organizations to strengthen trade and investment promotion initiatives.

In 2023, the center hosted a total of 208 trade and investment promotion activities domestically and internationally, representing a 63% increase compared to 2022. It also welcomed over 236 domestic and international delegations to explore the investment environment and exchange insights on trade activities.
