HCMC – HCMC’s Department of Education and Training has urged schools to adjust their timetables and activities to cope with the ongoing heatwave.

In response to the current scorching weather, the department has advised schools to consider changing class hours, reducing outdoor activities to better suit weather conditions.

Various measures have been undertaken to keep students comfortable, such as maintaining air conditioning and ventilation systems, providing an adequate supply of drinking water, and facilitating easy access to water throughout the premises.

Activities that involve queuing for attendance or lining up for classes should be limited. If outdoor activities are unavoidable, schools should arrange for students to study indoors or in shaded areas, especially refraining from strenuous exercises.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the southern region of the country has been experiencing intense heat with temperatures ranging from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius, or over 38 degrees Celsius in some areas on April 15-16.
