HCMC – Ticket prices for HCMC’s much-anticipated Metro Line 1, connecting Ben Thanh Market and Suoi Tien Theme Park, have been announced ahead of its commercial launch, with daily fares capped at VND40,000 for unlimited rides.

The HCMC People’s Committee offers additional ticket options, including a three-day pass priced at VND90,000 and monthly passes available for VND300,000 for regular passengers and VND150,000 for students. All tickets come with personal accident insurance.

The fares apply to all individuals and organizations using or managing public transport on the line. Payment options include cash and cashless methods. The operator, HCMC Urban Railways No.1 Company Limited (HURC1), has been directed to display the fares at stations and publish them on official digital platforms before the launch.

Metro Line 1 is in the final stages of preparation for commercial operations. Trial runs commenced on October 1, with HURC1 staff undergoing extensive training provided by Japanese consultant NJPT.

The line recently completed full-capacity trial runs from November 11 to 17, simulating real-world conditions. HURC1 reports that a comprehensive safety assessment is in progress, with findings expected to be submitted to the Railway Department by November 30.

Commercial operations are slated to begin in December, pending final approvals.
