Heath Ministry reports 47 new Covid-19 cases, with 36 in HCMC

HCMC – The Ministry of Health this morning, June 22, confirmed 47 new Covid-19 cases, including 36 cases in HCMC.

In addition, nine other cases were in Bac Giang, while Nghe An and Gia Lai had one each, the last-named locality having the new case after 20 days free of Covid-19. Up to 44 cases were detected in quarantine facilities and in areas under lockdown.

Thus, the country has recorded 13,483 Covid-19 cases, including 10,257 cases during the fourth Covid-19 wave since April 27.

As for the cases in HCMC, 30 were in direct contact with previously-confirmed Covid-19 cases, three were linked to the Revival Ekklesia Mission, and the sources of the remaining three are being tracked down.

In related news, the Hanoi government allowed the reopening of dine-in restaurants or eateries and barbershops from 0 a.m. on June 22. However, they must ensure a safe physical distance of customers, serve guests with a limit of fewer than 50% of their capacity and close before 9 p.m.

The Noi Bai International Airport was assigned to tighten control over passengers flying from HCMC. Local residents must make health declarations within 24 hours they return to the city.

They should come to HCMC, Binh Duong, Nghe An and Danang only if necessary.

In Ha Tinh Province, the city of the same name ended social distancing from 0 a.m. on June 22. However, municipal chairman Vo Trong Hai asked the Ha Tinh City government to continue complying strictly with anti-pandemic measures.

Meetings and conferences are allowed but must not gather more than 20 people. The city also banned gatherings of 15 people and over in public places.

Transport services to areas which have yet to be hit by the pandemic were resumed but religious and sport events and others with large gatherings have yet to be held. Nonessential services, such as entertainment centers, cinemas, karaoke and massage parlors and bars, are still suspended.
