Hue starts evaluating hotels for safety amidst Covid-19

Must read

THUA THIEN-HUE – A group of members from the Thua Thien-Hue Department of Tourism and related agencies has kicked off assessing hotels and resorts for safety after receiving the self-scored results from some 40 firms.

After evaluating the application of safety criteria based on the given Evaluation Form, with 100 being the highest score in terms of safety to welcome guests, the Alba Thanh Tan Hot Springs Resort, the first one to be assessed, scored 92 over a maximum of 100 points. That means the resort has deployed almost all measures to prevent the outbreak of the pandemic, with all the necessary precautions in place to serve guests.

Pham Tran Vu Quang, General Director of Thanh Tan Thua Thien Hue JSC, the investor of Alba Thanh Tan Hot Springs Resort and Alba Hue hotels, said by the time the second outbreak of Covid-19 hit, his facilities had already had ample experience in putting in place safety measures to ensure the optimum health of guests and employees.

According to Le Huu Minh, Acting Director of the provincial Department of Tourism, the assessed hospitality establishments will be widely publicized on mass media so tourists have a vast choice when visiting the ancient capital.

The group began visiting all the hotels and resorts from October 6.

After the assessment, the ones that do not score 50 points or more will have to suspend operations till they meet the safety criteria, which are divided into three levels—High Safety, Fair Safety and Basic Safety.

A hotel is considered unsafe to serve guests if it scores less than 50 points and will not be allowed to open its doors to the public.
