HCMC – The Ministry of Transport has called for the deployment of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) on expressways from 2025 to 2030.
In documents sent to municipal and provincial people’s committees as well as the Commission for Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC), the ministry underscores the urgent need for seamlessly integrating ITS on expressways.
ITS is expected to improve operational efficiency and ensure smooth travel and traffic safety, according to the ministry.
From 2023 to 2025, the ministry plans to formulate a national ITS development plan and extend ITS architecture until 2030. This phase will also focus on finalizing regulatory provisions, standard requirements, and investing in ITS systems for expressways.
