HCMC – The chairpersons of the People’s Council and the People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province have been named after these two key positions have been left vacant for eight months.
Today morning (August 23), the People’s Council of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong held its 17th session where elections were held to fill these two vacancies.
The council unanimously elected Pham Thi Phuc, head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of the Lam Dong Party Committee, as chairperson of the Lam Dong People’s Council for the 2021-2026 term.
During the same session, delegates also elected Tran Hong Thai, deputy secretary of the Lam Dong Party Committee, as chairman of the Lam Dong People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
Pham Thi Phuc is a 47-year-old native of Quang Ngai Province, while Tran Hong Thai, former deputy minister of Science and Technology, is a 50-year-old native of Ha Tinh Province.
These two positions had been left vacant since Tran Duc Quan, former secretary of the Lam Dong Party Committee, and Tran Van Hiep, former chairman of the People’s Committee of Lam Dong, were detained due to their alleged involvement in the Dai Ninh urban development project case.
