Silver Pagoda lies on the top of Kylin Mountain in Trang An quarter in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh Province. This mountain has the shape of a kylin’s head looking to the north, while the mountainside has a hollow like the kylin’s jaw.
Legend has it that a woman sacrificed herself to become the wife of the monster of kylin living on the mountain to save the locals. So, people built the Silver Pagoda on the mountain to worship the woman and called her Lady Princess.
