Mobile World Investment Corporation chairman to sell two million shares

HCMC – Nguyen Duc Tai, chairman of Mobile World Investment Corporation (HOSE: MWG), has registered to offload two million shares to meet personal financial needs.

The sale will take place from June 7 to July 5 through either block deals or order-matching transactions, according to the company disclosure.

Tai currently owns 35.4 million MWG shares, equivalent to 2.42% of the company’s charter capital. If the transaction is successful, his stake will fall to 2.29%.

In December 2021, he registered to sell 1 million shares when the stock price was around VND60,000 per share.

Recently, MWG reported revenue of over VND43 trillion for the first four months of the year, a 16.8% increase compared to the same period last year. The company did not disclose profit figures.

MWG shares closed at VND62,000 today, June 5, down 2.82% from the previous session. Based on this price, Tai is expected to obtain around VND124 billion from the sale.

The VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange moved sideways with a 0.06 rise, or 0.83 points, reaching 1,284.35 points, with 189 winners and 236 losers.

Trading volume dropped 1.15% over the previous session to 925 million shares, but value edged up 1.5% to nearly VND24.1 trillion. Block deals totaled 114.9 million shares worth VND2.66 trillion.

SAB stole the limelight, soaring to its ceiling price of VND65,600. With 2.9 million shares traded, it added over 1.4 points to the VN-Index.

VNM gained 3.8%, contributing 1.33 points to the main index, with a matching volume of nearly 11.9 million shares.

Among mid-cap and small-cap stocks, POW dropped 1.8% due to profit-taking. BCG rose 4.3% to VND9,910, taking the lead by liquidity with a trading volume of 29.8 million shares.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index rose 0.17 points, or 0.07%, to 244.49 points. There were 102 gainers and 76 decliners on the northern bourse. Total trading volume was 88.7 million shares valued at VND1.8 trillion.
