HCMC – A five-star railway service connecting two major tourist destinations in central Vietnam, Hue and Danang, was inaugurated today, March 26.
The launch of this new railway service aims to meet the travel needs of both local and international visitors to these popular tourist destinations.
The service will consist of two pairs of trains, coded HD1/2 and HD3/4, running between Hue and Danang, aptly named “Connecting the Heritages of Central Vietnam.”
Train HD1 departs from Hue at 7:45 a.m. and arrives in Danang at 10:35 a.m. Train HD2 departs from Hue at 2:25 p.m. and reaches Danang in around three hours.
In the reverse direction, train HD2 departs from Danang at 7:50 a.m. and arrives in Hue after nearly three hours of travel, while train HD4 begins its journey to Hue at around 3:00 p.m. and arrives in the former imperial capital of Vietnam at 5:45 p.m.
The ticket price for this luxury service is set at VND150,000, with monthly tickets available at VND900,000, along with discounts for eligible passengers.
Tran Tuan Anh, deputy general director of the Vietnam Railways Corporation (VR), said that each train will feature seven cars, including one power-generation car and one service car.
The VR has undertaken refurbishment of interiors and installation of various amenities for these tourist trains, along with allocating part of the existing passenger terminals on both ends for the operation of these trains.
