HCMC – The Party Central Committee (PCC) has expelled Mai Tien Dung and Duong Van Thai from the Party and stripped Le Thanh Hai of all his Party positions.
The decisions were made during the ninth plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee which commenced in Hanoi today, May 16.
Le Thanh Hai was found to have violated the principles of democratic centralism, Party regulations, and State laws. His lack of responsibility and weak leadership led to significant breaches in the Party and government operations in HCMC. This resulted in severe consequences, posing a significant risk of losing and wasting State funds and assets, and resources in society, impacting the reputation of the Party organization and the city’s government.
He was a former Politburo member and former secretary of the HCMC Party Committee.
Duong Van Thai and Mai Tien Dung were found to have seriously degraded in political ideology, ethics and lifestyle, violating Party and State regulations. Their actions caused public outrage.
Thai was a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and former secretary of the Bac Giang Province Party Committee, while Dung was former chairman of the Government Office and former member of the Party Central Committee.
