HCMC – Marvell Technology Inc, a U.S.-based semiconductor solutions provider, has expanded its presence in Vietnam by exceeding growth targets and opening a new design center in the central city of Danang.

The company’s workforce in Vietnam has increased by over 30% in eight months, surpassing its three-year target of 50% set last year.

Marvell’s expansion demonstrates its commitment to establishing a world-class semiconductor design hub in Vietnam, the company said in a statement.

Engineering facilities of Marvell in Vietnam are focused on developing critical technologies for artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud data centers, such as high-speed optical connectivity and storage solutions.

“Vietnam is rapidly becoming a center of semiconductor innovation and we are committed to being part of that,” said Matt Murphy, Marvell chairman and CEO.

Loi Nguyen, executive vice president of Cloud Optics at Marvell, said, “Marvell has been part of the technology ecosystem in Vietnam for over ten years.”

Marvell currently has offices in HCMC and plans to open a new design center in Vietnam’s southern metropolis next year.
