HCMC – U.S. chipmaker Marvell Technology, Inc. has announced the establishment of three new offices in Vietnam to support its expanding engineering workforce.

The two offices in HCMC, with one at eTown6 and the other at UOA Tower, were inaugurated on September 30. The office in Danang City will be opened on October 1.

The HCMC facilities include a new research and development lab with validation tools for semiconductor chip testing.

“The new lab reflects our deep and enduring commitment to technical excellence and our strategic confidence in Vietnam’s role as a rising hub for semiconductor innovation,” said Sandeep Bharathi, president of the Data Center Group at Marvell. “We are very excited to build an extremely capable engineering team in Vietnam. They will be driving breakthroughs across some of our most complex and high-performance products that are shaping the future of AI data infrastructure.”

Marvell entered Vietnam in 2013 with five engineers at the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone. The unit has since expanded to more than 500 engineers, making it the company’s third-largest research and development center after the United States and India.

The company said Vietnam plays a strategic role in its growth plans and in efforts to expand diversity in the workforce. Marvell works with local universities and the government through scholarships, internships, curriculum development and seminars. It provides 30 scholarships annually and recruits about 50 interns each year.

Engineers in Vietnam contribute to key products such as the Alaska A 800G PAM4 DSP Active Electrical Cable, Alaska P PCIe Gen6 Retimer and Nova 1.6 Tbps PAM4 DSP.
