Nearly 3,200 sustain injuries in holiday accidents

HCMC – The Ministry of Health reported that 3,190 individuals sought medical attention as they sustained injuries in traffic accidents during the five-day public holiday that ends tomorrow, with 3,011 of them hospitalized from April 29 to the morning of May 1.

Among these individuals, 701 were transferred to higher-level hospitals while 1,086 others were treated and discharged.

Since the start of the long weekend holiday, a total of 34 people died of traffic accidents. Of these, eight died at hospitals, 22 died on the way to hospital, and four taken home with a fatal prognosis.

The Traffic Police Department announced that on the third day of the holiday, there were 24 traffic accidents nationwide, with 10 fatalities reported. This represents a decrease of two accidents and one fatality compared to the same period in 2022.

All of the accidents occurred on roads, railways, and waterways.
