HCMC – Nearly 86,000 Vietnamese went abroad for guest work in the first seven months of this year, equivalent to 65.9% of the full-year plan, according to the Department of Overseas Labor Management.

A total of 85,781 individuals left the country for employment abroad between January and July, including 28,991 women. In July alone, 11,090 workers were recorded, of whom 3,374 were women.

Japan, Taiwan (China), and South Korea remained the main destinations, receiving 39,558, 32,471, and 7,340 workers respectively. Other destinations included China, Singapore, Romania, and Hungary.

The department said the numbers reflect continued demand for Vietnamese labor and efforts by companies to promote employment opportunities overseas.
