Nguyen Van Duoc reappointed secretary of HCMC People’s Committee’s Party organization

HCMC – Nguyen Van Duoc will continue serving as secretary of the Party Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

The Standing Board of the HCMC Party Committee has issued decisions choosing the new executive board, standing board, secretary and deputy secretaries, and the inspection board of the HCMC People’s Committee’s Party Committee.

The new executive board has 41 members, with 11 of them sitting on the standing board.

These decisions were announced this afternoon, August 23, at the first congress of the 2025-2030 Party Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee.

Nguyen Van Duoc, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, deputy secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, and chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, was reappointed secretary of the Party Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Nguyen Loc Ha, member of the Standing Board of the HCMC Party Committee and vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, was appointed permanent deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee.

There are three full-time deputy secretaries, namely Tran Van Nam, member of the HCMC Party Committee and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee; Huynh Tan Dinh, member of the HCMC Party Committee and chairman of the Inspection Commission of the HCMC People’s Committee’s Party Committee; and Ngo Thanh Tuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee.

The Inspection Commission of the Party Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee comprises Huynh Tan Dinh, chairman of the Inspection Commission of the Party Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee; Nguyen Doan Loc; Tran Van Dat; Tran Van Bay; Nguyen Thi Anh Dao; Ha Thi Hong Hai; and Dinh Thi Hien.

In the upcoming term, the Party Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee has set out 28 targets, including 19 on political task implementation and nine on Party building, Government building, and mass mobilization.

Regarding political tasks, HCMC aims for average annual GRDP growth of 10-11%. By 2030, the city would attain per capita GRDP of around US$14,000-15,000, and total investments would account for 35-40% of GRDP over a five-year average.

By the end of 2030, the city plans to add 199,400 social housing units and strives to complete the relocation of 50% of houses located on or along canals (20,000 units).
