HCMC – Vietnam’s national aviation authority has sent a report on the international flight schedule to the Transport Ministry, stating that nine international flights are set to land at two airports in HCMC and Hanoi per week after the country decided to ease travel restrictions on some international routes.
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and local low-cost airline Vietjet suggested that four international flights will land at Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and five will arrive at the HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat Airport on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Besides this, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) reported to the ministry its requirements for foreign airlines that transport passengers to Vietnam.
On September 11, CAAV had informed its counterparts in Mainland China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan of a scheme to resume passenger flights between Vietnam and the four countries and territory. As a result, four of them approved the scheme and announced their flight operation plans.
Mainland China appointed China Southern Airlines to operate one weekly flight on the Guangzhou-HCMC route.
Japan asked Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways to operate one weekly flight on the Tokyo-Hanoi/HCMC in rotation.
South Korean airlines will submit their operation plans to South Korea’s aviation authority next week.
Taiwan instructed China Airlines and Eva Air to begin services on the Taipei-Hanoi/HCMC route, with one flight per week.
Moreover, CAAV proposed that the Transport Ministry seek the prime minister’s approval to make adjustments to the air routes between Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. The aviation authority requested local authorities to publish a list of paid quarantine facilities, along with quarantine and testing fees for visitors to choose from.
CAAV also asked airlines to monitor the health condition of the flight crew once they arrive in the country. They are only allowed to work on more flights if they go 48 hours without developing symptoms of Covid-19.
