HCMC – NS BlueScope Vietnam, a member of the Branding Club under the Saigon Times Club, has introduced a new set of criteria for evaluating suppliers, with a focus on responsible and sustainable supply chain integration.
The firm’s supplier assessment criteria were presented at the seminar “Learning and Sharing about Sustainable and Responsible Supply Chains,” held recently in Ba Ria–Vung Tau Province.
The criteria cover five main areas, namely business ethics, human rights and labor rights, health and safety, environment; and community. The criteria will take effect from July 1, 2025.
The assessment system consists of four levels: document review, self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ), in-depth evaluation through EcoVadis, and on-site audit.
For existing suppliers scoring below 50 out of 100, NS BlueScope Vietnam will require a corrective action plan and a re-assessment within 6 to 12 months.
“We expect to complete a comprehensive ESG assessment of all key and priority suppliers in 2025, while also supporting them in raising awareness, building capacity, and improving sustainable operations in line with global goals and the Vietnamese Government’s commitments,” said Bui Nguyen Hoang, Vice President Supply Chain NS BlueScope Vietnam.
Through a systematic monitoring mechanism and close collaboration with its partner ecosystem, NS BlueScope Vietnam is helping to foster a responsible business community and aims to achieve a 30% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030.
