HCMC – Nvidia has entered into an agreement with the Vietnamese Government to develop an AI research and development center and an AI data center in the country.
The agreement, which was signed while Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was visiting the Government headquarters in Hanoi today, December 5, is the outcome of over a year of cooperation between the two sides, beginning with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Nvidia’s headquarters in the U.S. in September last year.
The Vietnam Research and Development Center (VRDC) and the AI Data Center will serve as platforms for Nvidia and its local partners to deploy advanced AI solutions.
At the agreement signing ceremony at the Government headquarters today, PM Chinh praised Jensen Huang’s strong commitment and determination to make Vietnam Nvidia’s “second home.”
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung described the event as a “historic milestone for Vietnam,” positioning Vietnam as a leading AI research and development hub in Asia.
“The centers will not only play a key role in supporting research initiatives, AI applications, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship but also create employment opportunities for domestic talent,” Dung said.
