HCMC – The Ministry of Health reported one new coronavirus patient this morning, May 16, who had returned to Vietnam from Russia, raising the country’s total number of confirmed cases to 314.
The patient, a 62-year-old female resident of the north-central province of Thanh Hoa, traveled to Quang Ninh Province on Flight VN0062. She was sent to a quarantine center in Hai Duong Province on arriving.
Her test results came out positive for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, on May 15. She is being treated at Hai Duong Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
Among 314 confirmed cases, 260 patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital, while 13 out of 54 active cases receiving treatment at eight hospitals and medical facilities have tested negative for the virus once or twice.
