Over 1,500 Covid-19 recoveries in HCMC register as volunteers

HCMC – More than 1,500 recovered Covid-19 patients have registered as volunteers in the fight against the pandemic in HCMC, according to the municipal Department of Health.

According to a document sent to the municipal government on the arrangement of Covid-19 recoveries participating in the anti-Covid fight, among the 273 people who registered with the Department of Health, 108 were willing to undertake missions, the local media reported.

In addition, the HCMC Business Association has mobilized 1,270 recovered patients, with 378 people having been dispatched to 14 units.

The municipal Department of Health asked localities and medical centers to continue mobilizing Covid-19 recoveries as volunteers.

Thu Duc City and districts in HCMC are in need of more than 1,700 volunteers.

Earlier, deputy director of the municipal Department of Health Nguyen Hoai Nam and Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son had called on patients who have recovered from Covid-19 to contribute to the fight against the pandemic.

Nguyen Van Vinh Chau, another deputy director of the HCMC Department of Health, said Covid-19 recoveries were unlikely to be re-infected with Covid-19.
