Vietnam hikes fuel prices

HCMC – Vietnam’s fuel retail prices were adjusted up by VND250-VND900 per liter or kilogram at 3.00 p.m. today, September 10, according to an announcement issued by the ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance.

The bio-fuel E5 RON92 price inched up VND250 per liter to VND20,140, while RON95 petrol is now priced at VND21,390 per liter, up VND260, the local media reported.

The prices of diesel oil, kerosene and heavy fuel oil are not higher than VND16,022 per liter, VND15,082 per liter and VND15,952 per kilogram, up VND355, VND320 and VND897 per liter or kilogram, respectively.

During this fuel price adjustment, the two ministries required local fuel traders to extract VND150 for each liter of RON95 gasoline sold, VND200 for each liter of diesel oil and kerosene sold and VND100 for each kilogram of heavy fuel oil sold to replenish the national fuel price stabilization fund.

Meanwhile, fuel traders were allowed to tap the fund at VND900 for each liter of bio-fuel sold to customers.
