HCMC – At the opening ceremony of the 2024 HCMC Ao Dai Festival on March 7, more than 800 ao dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress) designs by 30 designers were displayed at a stage on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street.
The 2024 HCMC Ao Dai Festival, themed “I love Vietnamese Ao dai”, aims to showcase Vietnam’s culture and tourism to domestic and international audiences, thereby boosting tourism and related services.
The festival is recognized as “The longest-running ao dai festival in Vietnam” by the Vietnam Records Organization, or VietKings, marking its 10-year anniversary.
The March 7-17 festival features a wide array of activities and contests, including ao dai exhibitions, art performances, seminars, ao dai drawing competitions both on-site and online. The main focus of this year’s festival will revolve around showcasing the versatility of ao dai, suitable for all genders, ages, and environments.
