HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh left for Brazil early this morning, November 16, to attend the G20 Summit at the invitation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The summit runs from November 16 to 19, reported the Vietnamplus news site.
The official delegation accompanying PM Chinh and his spouse includes Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung.
The 19th G20 Summit, themed “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet,” will focus on poverty reduction, sustainable development, energy transition, and reforming global governance institutions.
This marks Vietnam’s fifth participation in a G20 Summit, highlighting the nation’s growing international engagement. Vietnam’s repeated invitations to G20 meetings underscore the alignment of its strategic goals with the global priorities discussed at these forums.
Beyond attending the summit, PM Chinh and the delegation are set to engage in bilateral activities in Rio de Janeiro. As Vietnam and Brazil commemorate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2024, the visit aims to deepen their comprehensive partnership and chart a strategic direction for future cooperation.
Following the G20 Summit, PM Chinh is scheduled to make an official visit to the Dominican Republic from November 19 to 21.
This visit signifies Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening ties with the Dominican Republic, especially as the two nations approach the 20th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. It also underscores Vietnam’s dedication to fostering solidarity, friendship, and robust bilateral cooperation.
