HCMC – Phu Nhuan Jewelry JSC, whose PNJ shares are listed on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, has announced to advance a 6% cash dividend as the first payout of 2023.
Shareholders will receive VND600 for each share held. The dividend payment date is slated for April 12.
With over 334 million outstanding shares, PNJ is expected to spend more than VND200 billion paying the interim dividend for its existing shareholders.
In related news, PNJ is to hold its annual general meeting of shareholders between April 16 and 30.
According to the business report of January 2024, the company’s net revenue reached VND3,829 billion, shrinking by over 7% compared to the same period last year. Its after-tax profit fell by nearly 19% to VND245 billion.
Closing the trading session today, February 29, PNJ edged up by 0.22% day-on-day to VND90,400, with roughly 1.2 million shares changing hands.
The VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange lost 1.82 points, or 0.15%, against yesterday’s session, closing at 1,252.73 points, with 214 advancers and 262 decliners.
There were more than 1.09 billion shares worth VND26.1 trillion transacted on the HCMC exchange today, up by 12% in volume and 15% in value compared to the previous session. Block deals contributed VND1.7 trillion to the overall value, with 78.2 million shares traded.
In February, the VN-Index increased by over 88 points, or 7.59%, from the level of over 1,164 points at the end of January this year.
During today’s trading session, VRE and VHM faced the steepest declines among blue-chip stocks due to the rush for profit. Specifically, VRE dropped by 4.7% to VND26,500 per share while VHM declined by 2.3% to VND43,400 per share.
MSN was one of the primary drivers of the market as it picked up by 3.1% to VND70,400, with trade volume totaling 8.2 million shares.
SSI took the lead by liquidity with more than 43.1 million shares changing hands. With a 2.5% increase, it closed the trading session at VND37,000.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index increased by 0.29 points, or 0.12%, to 235.46 points, with 65 winners and 83 losers. The trading volume reached roughly 95.3 million shares, valued at VND1.9 trillion.
