Provinces to have anti-corruption committees

HCMC – Provincial-level authorities will have to set up their own steering committees for prevention and control of corruption and negativism.

Speaking at the closing session of the fifth plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee which took place from May 4 to 10, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said the Party Central Committee had approved the establishment of the provincial anti-corruption committees.

At the plenum, the Party Central Committee passed a number of resolutions. Specifically, in terms of land use and management, Vietnam will continue to reform land-related policies and laws, improve the effectiveness of land use and management, and create a driving force to develop itself into a high-income country.

The Party Central Committee also completed a report on reviewing 15 years of implementing the seventh plenum of the 10th Party Central Committee’s resolution on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, along with 20 years of implementing a resolution on continuing to reform, develop and improve the efficiency of the collective economy.

Participants at the fifth plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee also reviewed a project on building Party organizations and expanding Party membership to strengthen the quality, strength, and combativeness of the Party.
