HCMC – Russia is considering easing its visa requirements for Vietnamese tourists, including a potential visa exemption for groups.
This initiative aligns with “Discover Russia” – a global branding campaign launched in 2024 to promote local destinations to international markets, according to the Russian Ministry of Economic Development. In 2025, international arrivals to Russia grew 12%.
While around 15,000 Vietnamese visit Russia annually, the flow of Russian tourists to Vietnam is significantly higher. In 2025 alone, Vietnam welcomed 689,714 Russian visitors, making Russia one of its top 10 international source markets. This figure represents a threefold increase compared to 2024, surpassing pre-Covid levels and marking a decade-high peak in Russian visitors to Vietnam.
