Must read

Saigon Beer – Alcohol – Beverage Corporation (SABECO) has started sending support to six provinces impacted by typhoon Yagi through a collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU), local authorities, and its partners.

Under the relief program with a total value of more than VND4.2 billion, SABECO and its partners have been sending essential goods and food supplies to residents in flood-stricken areas of Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, and Yen Bai provinces. Each province is estimated to receive VND650.56 million. Additionally, VND50 million in financial aid was sent to frontline forces in each province to assist with post-disaster recovery efforts.

The essentials, including bottled water, food, and flashlights, were sourced from MM Mega Market and Chuong Duong Company, and were distributed to beneficiaries by local authorities and provincial CYU members to ensure timely and effective delivery.

Prioritizing employees’ safety and business continuity

With 44 member companies in the same ecosystem and more than 12,000 employees, SABECO is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its employees, particularly at the subsidiaries and factories managed by Bia Sai Gon Dong Bac Trading Company and Bia Sai Gon Mien Bac Trading Company, which have been directly impacted by typhoon Yagi. Since before Yagi’s landfall, the Board of Management of SABECO (BoM) alongside SABECO’ Labor Union and relevant Departments had been working closely together to:

  • Ensure the safety of employees and their families.
  • Evaluate the conditions of our facilities and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services.
  • Continue to supply products to businesses eager to rebuild.

SABECO’s employees have also demonstrated their solidarity by joining the SABECO Trade Union’s donation drive to further support employees in affected areas.

Mr. Lester Tan, CEO of SABECO, said: “At SABECO, as a leading company in Vietnam, our ‘Vietnam Together’ vision underscores our responsibility to stand with the communities we serve. In times of crisis, it is essential for us to provide tangible support. We have suspended events and programs to focus on delivering essential aid to communities, while ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees as well as the continuity of our business. This highlights the Corporation’s human-centric values as well as our commitments to promote sustainable development and well-being for Vietnam and its people.”
