HCMC – Saigon Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (HOSE: SHB) has raised its charter capital to VND45.94 trillion, following the State Bank of Vietnam’s approval to amend its business license.

The increase came after SHB completed the issuance of 528.5 million shares to pay a 13% stock dividend for 2024, in addition to a 5% cash dividend, bringing the total to 18%.

For years, SHB has maintained a steady dividend policy of 10-18% through both cash and stock, and the bank expects to sustain a dividend rate of 18% in 2025. Looking ahead, SHB aims for pre-tax profit of VND14.5 trillion in 2025, up 25% year-on-year, with total assets projected at VND832 trillion and expected to reach VND1 quadrillion by 2026.

On the stock market, SHB closed today’s session, September 30, up 0.6% at VND16,900, with over 102.6 million shares changing hands.

The VN-Index edged down 4.78 points, or 0.29%, to 1,661.7, with 82 gainers and 241 decliners. Market liquidity surged, with more than 1.14 billion shares worth VND32.2 trillion traded, rising 22% in volume and 19% in value against the previous session.

Despite the pullback, the VN-Index gained more than 285 points, or 20.75%, in the third quarter, though it lost 20.51 points, or 1.22%, in September.

Blue-chip stocks showed a mixed performance. Bank tickers such as MBB, TCB, and LPB provided some support late in the session, while Vingroup’s VRE hit the ceiling price, plus modest gains in its related stocks VIC and VHM. On the other hand, large caps like VCB, MSN, HPG, and FPT fell by 1-2.6%, driving the index lower.

Mid-cap and small-cap stocks remained under stronger selling pressure, especially in construction, real estate, public investment, and materials. Heavyweights such as NLG, SMC, HTN, DIG, QCG, ITC, and CII lost between 3% and 6%, while DRH and SGR hit the floor.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index slipped 1.99 points, or 0.72%, to 273.16, with 70 advancers and 109 decliners, and a matching volume of over 118.6 million shares worth VND2.73 trillion.
