Six Lao nationals caught transporting 121 kg of illicit drugs into Vietnam

HCMC – Six Laotian suspects were apprehended at the Cau Treo International Border Gate in Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province, by Vietnamese authorities for attempting to transport 121 kg of synthetic drugs into Vietnam by car.

The Ha Tinh Provincial Border Guard Command, in collaboration with the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention and Control and the Border Gate successfully dismantled the case, capturing the suspects red-handed.

On May 6, authorities at the Cau Treo International Border Gate area in Son Kim 1 Commune, Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province, noticed a 16-seater minibus with Laotian license plates exhibiting suspicious signs.

A subsequent inspection revealed six Laotian individuals on board (three men and three women), along with 121 kg of synthetic drugs.

The Vietnam Border Guard Command has directed relevant units to work with authorities to initiate legal proceedings against the suspects, expand the investigation, and handle the case in accordance with regulations.
