HCMC – The authorities of Hoc Mon District in HCMC today, June 24, proposed the municipal government impose stricter social distancing in line with the prime minister’s Directive 16 in part of Ba Diem Commune’s Hau Lan Hamlet and quarters 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 of Hoc Mon Town.
At present, the entire city is practicing social distancing under Directive 15, which is less stringent than Directive 16.
According to the Hoc Mon District government, the pandemic in the district has turned more complicated. Some areas in the district have reported community-transmitted cases with unknown sources of infection.
Therefore, the district suggested imposing social distancing in these areas for 14 days, starting from 0 a.m. on June 25.
In Tan Phu District, the Ministry of Health this afternoon confirmed 47 Covid-19 cases linked to the Son Ky Market.
The competent agencies had earlier locked down the market and tested traders of the market and residents nearby.
According to the Tan Phu District Medical Center, residents coming to the market from June 10 to date, those living near the market, and those traveling regularly on the Bo Bao Tan Thang, Le Trong Tan, and Tan Ky Tan Quy streets would have their samples taken for Covid-19 testing.
On June 23, the HCMC Center for Disease Control said that the city had detected Covid-19 cases in wholesale markets and the virus might spread to other markets as traders had come to wholesale markets to buy goods and then sold them at other markets.
The city also is looking for people who visited the Hoc Mon wholesale market in the district of the same name, Binh Dien Market in District 8, Son Ky Market and a market in Quarter 2, An Lac Ward, Binh Tan District, from June 1.
