A senior student manages to run every day though she is busy learning and doing a part-time job. Duong Thi Thuy Hang was born in 2001. She is now a senior student of the University of Transport Technology in Hanoi. To ease the impact caused by the pandemic and difficulties in life, she began to practice running and fell in love with this sport. The early start with running has paved the way for her to connect with the community, open her mind to new friends and discover herself. As young as she is, Hang has been aware of practicing running regularly. She spends 30 minutes to an hour running in the early morning every day before going to school and doing a part-time job. She has achieved several best results in some amateur running competitions. “Running gives me the spirit of discipline, the will for workout, the resilience and the patience,” Hang says. “The sport enables me to meet many interesting friends and to improve myself physically and mentally.” Over the past three years, Hang has become the youngest female pacemaker (a.k.a. pacesetter or pacer) at seven competitions of the VNExpress Marathon series.
