HCMC – As the travel demand remains high, the Tan Son Nhat International Airport handled nearly 800 flights carrying more than 126,000 passengers on February 12, the third day of the Lunar New Year (Tet).
Of the 766 flights in operation yesterday, 386 were for departure and 390 arrived at the airport in HCMC. The number of domestic passengers departing and arriving reached around 63,000 passengers per direction.
Only 10 ferry flights were operated, a sharp decline compared to the period from the 23rd to the 29th of the final lunar month, during which up to 110 ferry flights were recorded.
Passenger traffic at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport is expected to rise again from the fourth day of Tet. Estimates suggest that the daily number of passengers through the airport will surpass 130,000.
