HCMC – The Tay Ninh People’s Committee has proposed that HCMC and the province give priority to developing key road projects to build a synchronized infrastructure network, strengthen regional connectivity, and drive socioeconomic growth.

According to the provincial government, there are currently 37 road connection points between HCMC and Tay Ninh, including existing routes, those under construction, and others that have been planned but have yet to be implemented. Of these, 11 have been agreed upon by both sides as investment priorities for the 2023-2025 period.

So far, only two connection points have been completed: the DT.826E route linking with Long Hau Street, which has been expanded to six lanes, and the DT.824 route connecting with Nguyen Van Bua Street, widened to four lanes.

To accelerate infrastructure development, the Tay Ninh People’s Committee has proposed prioritizing nine additional connection points. Among them is the DT.823D route, now under construction with six lanes stretching 14.2 kilometers, which is slated for completion by the end of 2025.

Tay Ninh has also suggested joint investment in the Binh Duong–Tay Ninh transport axis during the 2026-2030 period. The 42-kilometer project would initially have four to six lanes and be expanded to 10 lanes in the final phase.

In addition, the provincial government has called on HCMC to extend Vo Van Kiet road to link with Tay Ninh’s Duc Hoa transport axis. The 4.7-kilometer section adjacent to HCMC has already been completed with six lanes, while the remaining 23.5 kilometers are planned for expansion to eight to 10 lanes.

HCMC, for its part, is prioritizing investment in several connection routes, including the Saigon riverside road and DT.789, Route and Bridge No. 1 (National Highway 56B), Le Van Luong Street and DT.826C, and National Highway 50B.

Once completed, along with existing and upcoming projects, these developments are expected to form a comprehensive transport infrastructure system connecting Tay Ninh and the Mekong Delta provinces with HCMC and the southeastern region.
