HCMC – Tran Tuan Anh has obtained approval to resign from his role as deputy of the National Assembly (NA) for the 15th term, according to the NA Standing Committee.

The decision was made during a meeting of the NA Standing Committee today, February 5.

Previously, Tran Tuan Anh submitted a letter on January 30 to step down from his position as NA deputy of Khanh Hoa Province.

In late January, the Party Central Committee approved the resignation of Anh from his roles as member of the elite Politburo and member of the 13th Party Central Committee over personal reasons.

As the leader of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, he had been held accountable for numerous violations within the ministry regarding the issuance of mechanisms for solar and wind power development, the implementation of the adjusted Power Development Plan VII, the management and licensing of fuel suppliers, the administration of the fuel price stabilization fund, the review, approval, and implementation for projects and packages executed by the scandal-hit AIC Company.
